We always worrying about setting number of elements per level, which leads to raise some questions like How many ??
simple, go to data base count the records and set the same value here in your hierarchy level.
Ex:- say we are at Region level, Region_name is the column which we have dragged into the level. now
select count(distinct region_name) from region_d, execute it in DB set this value as Number of elements in this level.

there is another option also...just give right click on business model objects and click on 'ESTIMATE LEVELS'. bt remember the rpd must be in online mode.

ReplyDeleteI have one question. What if the no. of records changed from one environment to another.
i.e suppose currently RPD is pointing to DEV and for particular level its showing 100 distinct record. Now if the same RPD is migrated to UAT and now its showing 200 records for that particular column.
So what will happen in this case. Can you please explain. I will be really thankful to you.
